6th Period Athletics

Pledges
Students and parents must complete the following appropriate document in order to be eligible for 6th Period Athletics:

Quick Facts:
– No student can be guaranteed placement into 6th period Athletics
– 1 year of this class counts as 1 PE credit (2 full years of PE are required for graduation)
– After 2 years of PE, students may opt to participate in this class as an elective (they must still, however, participate on a PLHS CIF sports team)
– All students must obtain Athletic Clearance in order to be placed in this class
– All students must complete and submit a pledge before participating in this class
– 9th and 10th graders must participate in at least 2 PLHS CIF sports in order to qualify for (and remain in) this class (*unless the student is a part of CIF Competitive Cheer…then he/she is not required to participate in additional sports)
– 9th and 10th graders who fail to participate in at least 2 PLHS CIF sports will be removed from the class and placed in an earlier PE period (*see note above)
– 11th and 12th graders must participate in at least 1 CIF sport in order to qualify for this class
– Freshmen will not be placed in 6th period Athletics until they are rostered to a PLHS CIF team (this cannot happen before tryouts)
– Any students who ditch 6th per conditioning, quit a team, report to workouts unprepared, or display inappropriate behavior will be removed from the class
– Admin has the right to remove students from this class if their academic or citizenship performance is suffering
